Leadership Information

LeadershipLeadership is a course for Seventh and Eighth Graders that is designed to help students figure out who they are and who they want to become. We work through the book, Healthy Habits of a Healthy Teen by Sean Covey. Students create individual mission statements to keep their eyes on their individual goals in life- academic, social, emotional, etc. Although we work on ourselves, we also work on building a positive inclusive environment for all students while they attend Sisters Middle School (SMS).

Leadership is known as the glitter-glue that holds our SMS community together. We welcome new students and acknowledge athletes and academic successes, we plan assemblies, we design annual spirit gear, and have seasonal fundraisers such as Candy-Cane-O-Grams and Kiss-O-Grams. Pennies for Patients is a give-back campaign that runs in the winter. The all-school Carnival is in the fall and the SMS GIG (⅞ Dance) is in the Spring. The SMS Yearbook is also completed by Leadership students. It is a 100% participatory class; from filmed Outlaw News to celebrating birthdays!
